Vintage 1950s Federal Glass "Happy Daze" Frosted Tumbler Set with Original Box
By Federal Glass
Located in St. Louis, MO
A delightfully nostalgic example of mid-century American barware, this complete eight-piece "Happy Daze" beverage tumbler set was manufactured by the renowned Federal Glass Company (Columbus, Ohio). As beautifully documented in photos, this rare survivor includes eight "Tall Boy" highball glasses alongside their original, illustrated cardboard presentation box. Glass dims are 6.88" h x 2.5" d.
Each tumbler is crafted from heavy-gauge glass with a frosted finish, providing the perfect canvas for the multi-colored, wrap-around lithographic illustrations. The graphics depict a series of whimsical, mid-century cartoon vignettes set on a tropical island paradise—featuring stylized palm trees, islanders, giraffes, and shipwrecked castaways in a playful, narrative sequence. The graphics remain remarkably vibrant, rendered in a classic retro color palette of hunter green, cocoa brown, mustard yellow, and red.a stylized letter "F" inside a shield—stamped on the bottom.
The set is 100% complete and in excellent vintage condition. The eight frosted glasses are entirely free of chips, cracks, or heavy clouding, with the lithographic designs remaining crisp and intact. The original storage box shows minor, honest age-appropriate wear, including light edge scuffing and superficial surface toning as expected for an authentic 1950s cardboard object, adding to its immense charm as a collector's piece.
