The piece features a high-energy density of overlapping, rhythmic curves and sweeping arcs that create a sense of constant fluid motion across the paper. The structured yet chaotic layout shares a visual dialogue with the mid-century modern figurative abstractions of artists like Willem de Kooning and the early layered line experiments of Helen Frankenthaler. The composition and movement feels inspired by artists such as Jackson Pollock and Cy Twombly. Unsigned but from a collection of the artist's work. Image size: 22" H x 28" W David Ronce is an American artist currently based in Brazil. Ronce was raised in Michigan and California, where he eventually studied Painting, Performance, and Film at the University of California, San Diego. Ronce also studied at San Francisco State University as a graduate student in Film Production, Animation, and SFX. He has exhibited in both the United States and Brazil, including a large scale exhibition at the Fundação Cultural de Rio do Sul in 2014. He new teaches art workshops on intuitive painting and drawing techniques in Florianopolis, Brazil. From the artist: "In creating my art I can choose to feel all feelings transparently and with intensity, and I allow myself at times to move further and further inward. This is where I begin to find the images I reconstruct of ‘energy’, birthing matrices’, ‘minerals’, and ‘physical forms’."
