Figure is an original drawing in pencil realized by Gabriele Galantara, the state of preservation of the artwork is aged,with sign of time on it, some decoloration from paper, applied on white cardboard. Image dimension: 35 x 24 cm. The artworks represent an angry, huge figure, created with strong lines, skilfully expressed in Expressionistic scratches from "The Donkey" magazine. Gabriele Galantara (1867-1937), journalist and one of the major Italian caricaturists and satirical designers. The Donkey was a political satire magazine in 1892, the year of the first Giolitti ministry and the establishment of the Italian Socialist Party, The magazine was conceived by Guido Podrecca,and by Gabriele Galantara, brilliant cartoonist and puppeteer, also a socialist. The two assumed the pseudonyms of "Goliardo" (Podrecca) and "Rata Langa" (Galantara), and with these nicknames, they signed the issues of the weekly.
