Medium: Pen and Ink on Illustration Board Signature: Signed Upper Left Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004) for 1957 Broadway Drama, `Look Back in Anger`, by Paul Osborne, with Mary Ure, Alan Bates & Jack Livesey. Directed by Tony Richardson with set design by Alan Tagg and costumes by Motley, the shocking and vibrant meditation that was an autobiographical portrait of Osborne`s unhappy marriage to Pamela Lane played at the Lyceum and John Golden Theatres 10/1/57-9/20/58 for 407 performances. Richardson went on to direct the film version in 1959, starring Richard Burton. On 15" x 20" illustration board with blue to indicate halftone. Probably for the New York American Journal. Includes preliminary sketch. 12" x 15" image.
