Caricature by George Wachsteter (1911-2004) for 1947 Broadway Musical Drama `Street Scene` by Elmer Rice & Kurt Weill, directed by Charles Friedman, at the Adelphi Theatre 1/9-5/17/47 for 148 performances. Designed by Donald Oenslager & Lucinda Ballard. From left to right: Hope Emerson as Emma Jones; Helen Arden as Greta Fiorentino; Ellen Repp as Olga Olsen; Norman Cordon as Frank Maurrant; Anne Jefffreys as daughter Rose Maurrant; Polyna Stoska as Anna Maurrant; Sheila Bond as Mae Jones; Danny Daniels as Dick McGann; and Sydney Raynor as Lippo Fiorentino. Four children in foreground open Act II of play with the "Catch Me if You Can" musical number. The illustration was used for the New York Herlad Tribune, includes clipping.
