About the Item

Sean Lyman is a Professor of Painting and Drawing at Missouri State University, with an extensive list of international exhibitions and work in public permanent collections including Spencer Museum of Art, University of Kansas and Elvehjem Museum of Art, University of Wisconsin-Madison. Lyman’s highly-honed drawing technique yields representational compositions featuring unpeopled spaces and objects of everyday life. The artist finds subjects that are often overlooked but which serve specific roles in our daily routines. He sees this imagery as a set of clues indicating story fragments and routines of the owners and occupants to which he alludes.
