Light age toning, minor surface marks and some foxing / spotting visible to the reverse. The sheet has slight waviness and minor edge wear, but the painted surface remains bright, decorative and highly presentable. Description: A beautifully colourful 20th century French School watercolour and gouache painting, depicting a lush Mediterranean garden with a reflective pool, sunlit terrace, potted plant and abundant botanical foliage. The composition is full of warmth and life, with rich greens, golden yellows, reds, blues and earthy browns layered together to create the impression of a secluded garden courtyard. The painting centres on a rectangular garden pool, its surface reflecting the surrounding trees, plants and pale stone edging. Around it, the artist has built up dense foliage using lively, expressive brushwork, creating a sense of dappled sunlight and enclosed privacy. A potted plant on a classical pedestal stands to the left, while tall architectural plants, flowering shrubs and overhanging branches frame the scene. The result is decorative, atmospheric and very appealing as an interior piece. The work has a strong Mediterranean feel, possibly suggesting a French Riviera, Provençal or southern European garden.
