Artist Andrea Doss presents a whimsical narrative of a fairy reading a book to animals in the forest. "She read all sorts of books, but her favorite kind were fairytales," says Andrea. Whenever the fairy reads, the woodland creatures would gather around to listen. Andrea paints in an illustrative style, fitting her fantasy themes.
About the Artist
Andrea Doss discovered that there were stories hiding in her paintbrush, and has been bringing them to life with her art ever since. Her paintings capture the essence of children’s books and lullabies. Andrea’s love for fairytales and storytelling is evident in her personification of animal friendships and activities. Adventurous, sweet, and whimsical are appropriate words to describe the artist’s fanciful characters. Andrea lives in Texas and works from her home, always closely supervised by her opinionated one-eyed cat named Poe.

Each animal and flower represent different things, the eggs and tadpoles show new life, the four-leaf clover is for luck, the bee produces the elixir of life in the honeycomb, the owl is wise, the rabbit symbolizes fertility and family. The frog navigates between the physical, emotional, and spiritual planes. Extractivism is a movement started by Zumloh where you only paint happy things. The rainbow became a symbol for the NHS.
