About the Item

MEDIUM: Limited Edition Cel SIZE: 10.5" x 12.5" EDITION SIZE: 500 ARTIST: Bob Clampett SKU: BC1101 ABOUT THE IMAGE: In 1962, legendary animation director, Bob Clampett created “Beany and Cecil,” an animated series modeled after the successful puppet show, “Time For Beany.” The series, like the puppet show, featured Beany, Cecil the Seasick Sea Serpent, and a plethora of other characters, who today remain as quirky as they are original, as their adventures embark them on surreal parodies of contemporary events and places. In “Beanyland,” Beany and Cecil rocket to the moon, where they magically create “Beanyland,” a moon-based parody of Disneyland. Of course, as the moon is made of cheese, the plot point of villain/antagonist Dishonest John, is to destroy Beanyland, while also selling the moon cheese to Earth until there is, effectively, no moon left. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Bob Clampett was an American animator, director, producer and puppeteer known for his work on the Looney Tunes animated series from Warner Brothers. Clampett was promoted to a directorial position in 1937 and during his fifteen years at the studio, directed 84 cartoons later deemed classic and designed some of the studio's most famous characters, including Porky Pig, Daffy Duck and Tweety.

MEDIUM: Limited Edition Cel SIZE: 18" x 14.5" EDITION SIZE: 750 ARTIST: Friz Freleng SIGNED: Friz Freleng SKU: FF1013 ABOUT THE IMAGE: Tweety stands his ground to protect his town against Sylvester. Each piece has a studio seal and is signed by Mr. Freleng. ABOUT THE MEDIUM: A limited edition cel is a recreation of an original production cel or a hand-tailored cel depicting a favorite character in a special scene. Mr. Freleng personally developed and drew the original master art for each of his limited editions. The cel image is hand-inked on an original master cel. Silkscreened ink lines are then created from the master for each of the limited edition pieces. In traditional animation style, the cels are turned over and hand-painted on the back using animation cel paint. The hand-painted background image is photographically reproduced to insure the best color and reproductive quality. ABOUT THE ARTIST: Friz Freleng was an American animator, cartoonist, director, producer and composer known for his work at Warner Brothers on the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester the cat, Yosemite Sam and Speedy Gonzalez...
