MEDIUM: Original Production Cel on Printed Background IMAGE SIZE: 10.5" x 9" PRODUCTION: Superman the Animated Series SKU: IFA1051 ABOUT THE IMAGE: As a follow up to their hugely successful BATMAN: the Animated Series, the creative team of Bruce Timm, Paul Dini and Alan Burnett have transformed the mightiest super-hero of all time into another citizen of their own art-deco D.C. Comics universe. Premiering on television in September, 1996 SUPERMAN exists in a world of the future, a glittering, gleaming sci-fi Metropolis. But beneath the shiny surface of this seeming utopia is its sinister, controlling figurehead, Lex Luthor, whose domination is threatened by the sudden appearance of the morally just and apparently invincible Kryptonian, Superman. ABOUT THE MEDIUM: Original production cels are one-of-a-kind pieces of art that were used in the creation of an animated film or television show. Each has been hand-painted by studio artists on a piece of celluloid acetate, and has been photographed over a background painting to create a frame of the finished production.
