2008
Matteo Basilè’s career began in the early 90s as one of Europe’s first artists merging art and technology. Basilé owns the extraordinary capacity to conciliate opposing ideas such as beauty and grotesque, natural and artificial. He has exhibited in major museums and galleries in Italy, Europe and China. Basilè is considered one of the most important exponents of digital art. For 10 years in his art, he mixed digital culture with classical iconography, re-inventing the idea of portraiture. Basilè uses digital photography to develop and expand his painting.
