About the Item

Carved folk art vase, with hand-painted bright cloisonné enamel embellishments. The form's contrasting glazes amplify its intricate carvings and mottled texture. Stamped Amphora in the base, and numbered. Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel (RStK), later known as Amphora, began producing luxury ceramic objects in Turn-Teplitz, Austria in 1892. With the help of well-established ceramicist Alfred Stellmacher, his son and sons-in-law established the Riessner, Stellmacher and Kessel factory, which would produce some of the most highly collected porcelain objects of the 20th century.
