Born in Lima, Peru, Victor-Raul Garcia was raised by his maternal grandmother with whom he immigrated to the United States at age 6. An abstract painter and collage artist, he has lived and worked in Europe and the US, and currently maintains his studio in Sullivan County, NY. His auto-didactic work is the result of a relentless passion to make his own reality, an innate resourcefulness and curiosity, endless days of continued experimentation, and an all-encompassing necessity to communicate through art. His art has been described as a subtle romance between expressionism and street art.
