The challenge I posed for myself with this painting was to abstract the image as much as I could and still have it read as a traditional landscape.
About the Artist
Karen’s abstract paintings are best described as an exploration in color. Often monochromatic, her work is a meditative and serene improvisation in the movement and depth of paint. Whether executed in earthy shades or vibrant tones, each painting evokes a different mood for the viewer’s contemplation. Karen’s body of work gives a gentle nod to the Color Field movement of the 20th Century, grounding her portfolio solidly within the evolving story of contemporary art.
