Pastel blossoms flourish in artist Natalie George's whimsical abstract piece. She reflects on the overwhelming wonderment felt when surrounded by beautiful flowers at their peak. Soft petals and light fragrances take form in colors and shapes. "I am always stunned by the loveliness of the first few moments in a well-curated flower shop - this sudden emotional response is what I wanted to capture," says Natalie.

About the Artist
Natalie George has been an artist her entire life. A college semester in Italy introduced her to the tradition of realism. After mastering this classical style, she began to experiment with abstraction in her work. Natalie now paints heavily abstracted landscapes, combining unexpected colors to create interpretations of reflective bodies of water. Her work recalls both modernism and the gilded compositions of 20th Century Austrian painter Gustav Klimt. The artist’s process begins with visiting a location and shooting reference photographs, followed by sketches on paper, before finally turning to canvas. Natalie’s paintings reward the patient viewer, who will discover delicate horizon lines, trees, and fluid reflections within her hazy abstractions.
