About the Item

Series "Ocean of Light" is an expressive and immersive series of abstract paintings that captures the rhythm of emotion through motion, color and explores the untamed beauty of nature, and the expressiveness of the human spirit. This rtwork transforms the canvas into a fluid, living surface—one where movement, emotion, and energy converge in waves of color. Working primarily in shades of blue and turquoise, with accents of white, Ocean of Light evokes the vastness of sky and sea, as well as the internal landscapes of memory, emotion, and intuition. Each painting is created through a spontaneous, gestural process that prioritizes motion over control, emotion over representation. Drips, splashes, and sweeping strokes are laid down in rhythm, allowing the paint to find its own path—guided by instinct, gravity, and the artist’s physical engagement with the canvas. Each piece in the series is a moment of motion made permanent—a trace of energy, like a wave frozen mid-crest. The works do not depict the ocean; they become it. Through their layered, dynamic compositions, they mimic the flow and turbulence of natural forces. Some paintings feel calm and meditative, like sunlight glimmering on still water. Others pulse with intensity, capturing the tension of stormy emotion or the chaos of inner transformation. In this series, the ocean is not just a metaphor—it is a mirror, reflecting the shifting tides of feeling, the force of nature, and the boundless capacity of art to move, to heal, and to illuminate. ________________________________________________ BIOGRAPHY Nataliia Krykun, is a Ukrainian Austrian ultra-contemporary multidisciplinary artist based in Vienna, Austria. Her works capture the serene yet powerful spirit of nature through a distinctive fusion of abstract minimalism and impressionism. Krykun draws inspiration from Nature, boundless horizons, shifting light, and meditative rhythms of the water. Krykun’s approach is deeply intuitive, allowing color and light to guide her process. By reducing visual elements to their essential lines and hues, she evokes a timeless sense of space and depth. Her work often resonates with viewers as both a personal sanctuary and a universal nature memory, transcending geography and speaking to the human longing for openness and freedom.  Krykun has participated in numerous international exhibitions and art fairs worldwide, including VOLTA Basel, Paris Contemporary Art Fair, ArtVilnius, CONTEXT Art Fair during Art Basel Week Miami, Artexpo New York, Affordable Art Fair in London and The Other Art Fair (Saatchi Gallery), ARTMUC in Munich, and exhibitions in Austria’s Krems Museum within the historic Dominican Church. A significant milestone in her career was her participation in the Pavilion of Ukraine at the 58th La Biennale di Venezia, in the group project “The Shadow of a Dream Cast Upon Giardini della Biennale.”
