In 1993, a window of opportunity opened as a result of several different situations that were occurring. I was participating in an Artist-in-Residence program in Yellowstone National Park. At the same time, I had recently been asked to show my artwork in nearby Livingston, Montana. All of these events resulted in a major lifestyle change. My love of the outdoors and of fly-fishing drew me to make the transition. So here I am. I live in a small town nestled in the Rocky Mountains where life is the opposite of what it was in Los Angeles. - Joe Fay

Hackett’s paintings defy popular convention. They are not figurative, decorative, representative, or even completely abstract. Seafood from both the seas that surround the peninsula and from its rivers are an integral part of the livelihood and cuisine of Koreans. Kim Kyung (in Hanja, 金耕, in Hangul 김경) was born in South Korea, his real name, under the current Revised Romanization was Kim Gyeong-Eun (in Hanja 金萬斗, in Hangul 김경은). His name follows the East Asian convention of family name first, though some Western galleries choose to reorder his name with the Western convention as Kyung Kim.
