About the Item

There is a palpable sense of relief permeating this painting. Life courses through the background, never ceasing to hope, and the constricting structures in front of it are dissolving and fading into the atmosphere. There are pain and loss, but the oppressive weight is lifting. :: Painting :: Expressionism :: This piece comes with an official certificate of authenticity signed by the artist :: Ready to Hang: Yes :: Signed: Yes :: Signature Location: back :: Metal :: Portrait :: Original :: Framed: No

In addition to oil paint, De Bruycker also uses asphalt, gesso and cobalt drier on canvas. De Bruycker took an intuitive, process-oriented approach to his work, which he described as “emotive and fluid”.
