About the Item

Original acrylic on wooden panel painting by the well known American folk artist, Black Joe Jackson. Circa 1985. Signed vertically on the left side. Titled bottom left. Condition is excellent. The painting is housed in a contemporary brown/grey grained washed wooden frame. 0verall framed measurements are 16.5 by 18.5 inches. A Sarasota, Florida collector. Black Joe Jackson (American, 1922-1997) was a self taught African American Folk Artist. Born near Atlanta, GA in 1920 to a poor share-cropper family, Jackson painted on board and used other available materials including house paint to create his art. Jackson was born dyslexic as evidenced by his lettering.
