This artwork "Girl with Roses" c.1990 is an oil painting on canvas by noted British artist Brenda Burke, b.1957. It is signed at the lower right corner by the artist. The canvas size is 30 x 20 inches, framed size is 37.5 x 27.5 inches. Framed in original wooden beige and gold ornate frame, with fabric liner. The artwork and frame are in excellent condition. The fabric liner is separated at the 4 corners and will be replaced by a new one when sold, before shipping, This will bring the over all condition to excellent. About the artist: Brenda Burke started to paint at an early age of three years. Her career has spanned more than half a century, encompassing paintings, portraits, sculpture and printmaking. She has trained in the classical style of the old masters at the renowned Farnham art school just outside of London, England and continuing her studies in Florence and Rome, Italy, Burke’s wealth of experience, technical excellence and artistic vision is evident in each of her exceptional works of art. Inspired by how the sunlight illuminated the petals of a rose, artist Sherri Aldawood paints a portrait of her model Alana holding a freshly cut bloom. She paints her enveloped in a warm glow, revealing her and the flower's ethereal beauty. The model poses tenderly in a white dress with a Bardot neckline. The colors of summer shimmer vibrantly in the background.

About the Artist
Sherri Aldawood didn't intend to always paint flowers, but over time her love of gardens started to permeate her art. She focuses on the light and color of the flowers on the canvas. Sherri prefers alla prima, working with wet layers of paint instead of letting them dry. She keeps the paint as wet as possible by using walnut and clove oil to extend the drying time.
