Pindorama Pindorama means “land of the palm trees,” the name used by the indigenous Tupi-Guarani people to refer to the land they inhabited centuries ago, now known as Brazil. This series is a return to origins. Through vibrant compositions inspired by Brazilian poetry, music, and storytelling, Júlia Martins Miranda reflects on the warmth, color, and traditions of her homeland. Working across different mediums, she explores the intersection between personal and collective histories, creating paintings that function both as homage and remembrance. From a position of geographical and emotional distance, the artist reimagines Brazilian cultural traditions through memory and imagination. In this space of separation, Brazil is not merely recalled but reconstructed—its energy, rhythms, and iconographies filtered through time and place, forming a visual language that moves between nostalgia and new mythmaking.
