Jordi Pagans i Monsalvatje was a Spanish painter born in El Masnou near Barcelona. He studied at the School of Fine Arts in Barcelona and later continued his training under the painter Josep Roca-Sastre. Pagans developed a distinctive pictorial language rooted in Mediterranean figurative painting. His works often focus on coastal landscapes of Catalonia, urban scenes and still lifes, characterized by thick impasto, expressive palette-knife technique and a refined sensitivity to Mediterranean light. Throughout his career he exhibited in numerous galleries in Barcelona, Girona, Paris and London, establishing a strong reputation within the Catalan figurative painting tradition of the second half of the twentieth century.
