About the Item

Afterglow - Oil painter and fine artist Carole Garland chose as her subject this rosette succulent Echeveria or commonly known as Afterglow with its bell-shaped flowers. The sharp angular planes of the pool deck contrast with soft reflections in the water and the whimsical painted flowers. The dark shadows of the distant diving board, the succulent and the white plastic table add mystery to the painting. The panel has wood sides which can serve as a frame and the painting is wired for easy hanging. Carole Garland graduated from Knox College, Galesburg, Ill., studied art at the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of the Americas, Mexico. She has studied with numerous fine artists including Calvin Liang and Frank Serrano but her most recent "influencer" is fine artist and teacher David Gallup, former vice president of the California Art Club
