This oil on canvas painting is by French artist Claude-Max Lochu (1951 -) and features an iconic Paris view with a poetic vision of the Eiffel Tower in yellow and purple tones. The artwork is signed on the bottom right corner with Lochu's signature. Contemporary framed in an elegant wood frame with a shaded silver pattern and white matte. The last picture shows the back of the painting before framing. Measurements: With frame: 19.68 in high (50 cm) by 22.83 in wide (58 cm). Opening view: 14.17 in high (36 cm) by 17.32 in wide (44 cm). Reference: Born in 1951 in Delle, a town in the Franche-Comté region of France, Claude-Max Lochu is a distinguished painter, designer, and visual artist. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Besançon, where he honed the expressive style that defines his work today. Lochu's art is featured in permanent collections at the Faure Museum and in galleries in both Paris and Lyon. His work has also been exhibited at the Museum of Fine Arts in Dole, among other notable venues. For Lochu, painting is an act of surrender—he believes the artist's mind becomes vacant, allowing the hand to follow a deeper, instinctive artistic impulse. Through this process, he captures the subtle poetry of urban life, transforming cityscapes into luminous, symbolic compositions. His paintings are richly narrative, often evoking literary or cinematic qualities. Each canvas represents a moment in time, a story unfolding in color and light. Now residing in the South of France, Lochu has exhibited his metropolitan scenes in New York, California, Paris, and frequently in Tuscany. When shown in the very cities that inspired them, his works offer a strikingly modern and introspective lens through which those places can rediscover themselves.
