About the Item

The Blue Column transports us to a space where time appears to stand still. The composition divides the canvas into two parts: at the top, a narrow strip reveals the head of a classical Roman sculpture, a remnant of what once was. The lower part features a vertical rectangle containing a fragment of classical architecture, dominated by a column supporting a lintel. The blue palette creates an almost dreamlike atmosphere, making the column the central element that gives the piece its name. Beneath the lintel, the silhouette of a man stands out against a golden ochre background, evoking an endless desert landscape. This figure adds an air of mystery: he seems like an explorer who has just discovered an ancient architecture lost in the vastness. His gaze is fixed on the head of the sculpture above, drawing an imaginary line that connects both elements and guides us through the painting. The Blue Column is a work that combines softness and strength, evoking a world where history and the present merge. With a surrealist touch, the piece invites us to immerse ourselves in its intriguing atmosphere and follow the visual suggestions it offers.
