About the Item

In this painting, the artist draws on the metaphor of memory as a closed yet dynamic space. The figure, enclosed within an oval that resembles a mirror, a porthole, or a protective cocoon (capsule), is in a state of weightlessness and inner concentration. This is a visual image of the “archive of the soul,” where fragments of personal history are stored. The color scheme of the painting becomes the primary conduit of meaning. The figure’s rich blue and lilac colors symbolize the stream of consciousness, the depth of reflection, and the space of an intuitive search for one’s own “self.” The warm golden-ochre background inside and around the sphere creates a sense of light breaking through the layers of time.
