A drive along the Peak to Peak Highway outside Golden, Colorado, in autumn reveals golden aspens set against purple mountains and dark evergreen foliage. The elevation and layered terrain create a strong sense of depth, while the contrasting colors capture the richness of the season.
About the Artist
Artist Renee Noel, based in Northern Colorado, creates striking cloudscapes and landscapes inspired by the region's ever-changing skies and her travels. "I look up to the sky for my muse, hunting clouds that excite me and inspire my next piece," says Renee. Growing up in a family of musicians and artists, she was encouraged to explore creativity from a young age, and her aunt, a visual artist and leader in the South Pasadena art community, introduced her to museums and galleries. A defining milestone in her artistic journey was earning a scholarship to study figure drawing at the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Renee paints from a spacious home studio that she and her husband designed, filled with natural light and French doors, where she can fully immerse herself in the process. When not painting, she enjoys spending time with her family, participating in her local art community, and playing with her energetic Labrador.
