William Smeall was a Scottish artist based in Edinburgh. He is best known for his street scenes of the city, though he also painted rural subjects. His work is in the collections of the City Art Centre in Edinburgh and the Art Gallery of New South Wales, as well as in numerous private collections. Painting itself measures 10" x 14". Artist's signature lower right.
