Julia Chaduneli-Prodiashvili is a contemporary Georgian artist. She was born on February 25, 1974, in Kutaisi into the familiy of artist Viktor Prodiashvili. She subsequently moved to Tbilisi, where she currently lives and works. Julia works in painting and graphic arts. In her work, she deeply respects the legacy of the French Impressionists—Claude Monet and Pierre-Auguste Renoir—as well as the masters of the Italian Renaissance—Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo. Georgian artists and sculptors Merab Berdzenishvili, Rusudan Gachechiladze, Elena Akhvlediani, Sergo Kobuladze, and Levan Kharanuli—have significantly influenced the development of her artistic language. Valentin Serov, Mikhail Vrubel, Diego Velázquez, Zinaida Serebryakova, Konstantin Somov, and many other masters of the European and Russian painting traditions also had a particular influence on her artistic thinking. Landscape painting, dedicated to the nature of Georgia, occupies a special place in her work, conveying a state of light and inner experience. The artist's significant interest lies in still life as a theme of "quiet presence" in human life, the philosophy of simple things and their subtle yet profound contribution to human existence. Considerable attention in her work is given to portraiture—as a form of reflection of the uniqueness of each person's personality and their inner dialogue with their soul. Her works in the genre of children's portraiture are filled with a special warmth and light, where the theme of childhood is revealed as a space of sincerity, purity, and emotional openness. Animalistic themes also occupy an important place in her works, present in both drawing and painting, as an image of a living, trusting and harmonious coexistence between man and nature.
