About the Item

What does joy taste like? Perhaps it is slightly sweet and wonderfully fresh — as vivid and refreshing as a sip of cool, clear water on a scorching summer day. A moment of pure, crystalline happiness. In this painting, water carries a deeper meaning within the concept of the inner garden that runs throughout my work. It represents the source of growth, renewal, and transformation. Water is the element from which life emerges, but it can also be seen as a reflection of our inner flow — the energy that moves through us. At times it is powerful and restless; at others, calm, gentle, and free. Yet it is always essential. When we become overwhelmed by worries, responsibilities, and emotional burdens, this inner source can begin to slow, as if the water has stopped flowing. If neglected for too long, it may even run dry, leaving us disconnected from ourselves and from the vitality that nourishes us. Caring for this source, keeping it clear, and maintaining a steady flow is much like the ongoing practice of personal growth and self-reflection. Painted in bright, sunlit colors, The Taste of Joy invites the viewer to reconnect with that inner spring — a place of clarity, emotional renewal, and quiet abundance. Like many of my paintings, it is a small visual oasis: a reminder to pause, replenish yourself, and remember the simple, life-giving moments that help us flourish.
