About the Item

Amid dense foliage covered with rain droplets, a calendula flower blooms — a plant that has accompanied humanity for centuries as a source of healing, beauty, and everyday cultural tradition. In this work, it appears as an archaeological sign from the future, carrying the memory of knowledge once passed from generation to generation. The droplets resemble preserved fragments of history, while the surrounding leaves become a living archive. The calendula stands as a symbol of the understanding that culture exists not only in monuments and museums, but also in the living organisms people choose to cultivate and protect. Through the lens of future archaeology, the painting reflects on the fragile relationship between humanity and the natural world, where even the most familiar plants may one day become traces of a vanished era. The work asks a simple yet profound question: what living treasures of our time will future generations discover among the layers of history, and will they still be able to read the stories embedded within them?
