About the Item

Music has always been a passion for David Bailey. As a teenager, he played the trumpet, thinking for a while that music - rather than photography - might be his future. Among his musical heroes is Miles Davis, who he considers to be one of the geniuses of the twentieth century. The exhibition features a shot of Miles Davis with his tongue out, a moment of playfulness caught while sitting for Bailey.
