**Betina Samaia** (b. 1964, São Paulo, Brazil) is a Brazilian photographer whose work explores the porous boundary between reality and imagination. Holding a degree in Psychology from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP, 1988), Samaia has long been interested in the visual expression of the unconscious, developing a photographic practice that transforms observation into poetic and psychological inquiry. Her images are distinguished by an atmospheric language that dissolves clear contours in favor of ambiguity, memory, and sensation.
