"Gap" by Kimberly Poppe is a limited edition photograph — a striped orange and white beach awning parted by a channel of blue summer sky, in the artist's abstract, minimalist, graphic color-field style. Unframed giclée print, edition of 50, with certificate of authenticity. Available in other sizes on request. Shipped rolled in a protective tube. Framing options also available. Gap is a limited-edition photograph by the American contemporary artist Kimberly Poppe (b. 1974). Working in her signature graphic, color-field manner, Poppe captures the pure geometry and color of a striped beach awning, sun-bleached bands of saturated orange and white, split at the center with a narrow vertical channel of clear summer sky. Stripped of horizon and context, an ordinary piece of seaside canvas becomes a study in colour, light, and space — more of a vivid colour field painting than conventional coastal photography, and carrying all the warmth of a Mediterranean summer. The image belongs to the graphic strand of Poppe's practice, in which she isolates the extraordinary within everyday detail. It suits both the collector of abstract and coastal photography and the interior designer after a bold, architectural summer statement in orange, blue and white. Medium and edition: archival giclée print on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta 325 gsm handmade paper, with archival pigment inks. Limited edition of 50, accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity. The image is printed with a 1 cm (0.4 in) white border on all sides. Dimensions: the image itself measures 60 × 90 cm (23.6 × 35.4 in). With the 1 cm (0.4 in) white border on all sides, the full print measures 62 × 92 cm (24.4 × 36.2 in). About Kimberly Poppe Kimberly Poppe (b. Boston, 1974) is an American abstract and contemplative photographer based in Spain. Her photographic practice is rooted in fresh, direct, present-moment perception. Drawn instinctively to colour, light, and coincidence, Poppe delights in noticing and photographing the extraordinary in the ordinary, inviting viewers into the quiet intensity of her encounters with the world. Her practice spans two principal bodies of work: graphic, color-field compositions of everyday detail, and a series of large-format abstract seascapes made with long exposures and deliberate camera movement. Poppe recently completed a large scale multi-year commission as the featured artist across Brittany Ferries' new fleet of five cruise ferries, and her Eventides series is permanently installed at the Hotel Arts Barcelona. Her artwork has been exhibited internationally, featured in The Guardian, Architectural Digest, and Elle Decor, and is held in private collections worldwide.
