About the Item

Rankin unites spontaneity and perfection in a unique and exciting concept. He likes things to be natural, but not simple. Sometimes he chooses various accents of color as highlights, sometimes a single object seems to fascinate Rankin’s eye. Maybe it’s because his photographs are so personally motivated that they symbolize so much of his character. As Rankin explains in an interview, “My photos are like a diary. A book that describes my life. Only I’m not in it.” Throughout his work, Rankin continues to question society’s established ideals of beauty, he sparks controversy, and fans the fires of discussion. He has made his name, above all, as a provocative artist with perfectionistic tendencies.
