This image is printed in an edition of 3, but comes in smaller sizes. Each photograph is hand printed on Canson Baryta Paper and is signed and editioned by the artist. Sarah Hadley is a Los Angeles based artist whose narrative work focuses on memory, place and female identity. She grew up in the Gardner Museum in Boston and received degrees from Georgetown University and the Corcoran College of Art. Hadley worked at the Venice Biennale, and the National Gallery of Art, before moving to Chicago where she founded the Filter Photo Festival in 2009. Hadley has had solo shows at the Loyola Museum of Art, the Griffin Museum of Photography, the Richard Levy Gallery, Afterimage Gallery, Fabrik Projects, and the dnj Gallery. In addition, she has shown at photo festivals in France, Italy, China, Australia, India and Portugal and her photographs are held in numerous private and public collections worldwide. Hadley’s photographs have also been featured in magazines, newspapers and blogs worldwide including Elle Italia, Le Monde, B+W Magazine, and Marie-Claire. Hadley received grants from the Illinois Arts Council, the Chicago Artist Foundation, the California Center for Cultural Innovation, as well as several Fellowships from the Ragdale Foundation. In 2020, Lost Venice was published by Damiani and is now in the collections of the Bibliothèque Nationale in Paris, the National Museum of Women in the Arts, the Getty Research Library, and the Huntington Library.
