Limited Edition of 10 . About Carla Bruni series/ Philippe Robert Interview: I have worked a lot with Carla Bruni since she was 17 when she wasn’t ready yet to pose naked. I have work with her during more than 40 photo shoots Those photos, taken between 1990 and 1992, reflect the beginning of an Era, the Top Model Era, that period of time where the Models became Stars. Before that the clothes were the Stars of the fashion photo shoots. We used model as “hangers” to put the clothes on and show them. But a new generation of models came, hard worker, kind and most of all ambitious… They had a desire to be recognized for their hard work. Some of them worked for hours with shoes too small for their feet and didn’t say a word. Carla was one of those models. For this photo shoot she stayed half seated on the floor naked for more than an hour, without a complaint. She wanted to show that she was more than a model but that she had a soul and something more to give, with her eyes, with her face expressions, like an actress. That how those girls (Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Linda Evengelsita, Claudia Schiffer…) became famous, and recognized. From that a new form of art photography emerged, one that magnified the Models and not only the clothes. The goal with this shoot was to make timeless photos compare to pure fashion photos where the clothes would become obsolete at some point and the pictures as well. Those photos are more a woman’s portraits than a fashion photo shoot. Carla Bruni worked really hard on this shoot. The barely there clothes made her feel free. Those photos were published all around the world, from china to Russia for VOGUE, Harper’s Bazaar,Vanity Fair… This shoot was originally made for Harper’s Bazaar Italy.
