Born in London, Hodgkin's work is characterised by vibrant colours, bold brushstrokes, and a unique approach to abstraction. He often blurred the line between representation and abstraction, creating emotionally charged and evocative paintings that defied easy categorisation. Hodgkin's art was deeply influenced by his experiences and memories, and he often titled his works to provide viewers with a clue to the personal significance behind each piece.
