About the Item

ABOUT THIS PIECE: A study of gesture in a digital context. Nicole Yates is inspired by the landscape and architecture in her everyday life. She deducts, simplifies, and abstracts their shapes creating striking black and white paintings. Her canvases begin with emotional, wild brush strokes. She refines and controls the imagery over time to create a more geometric final work. ABOUT THIS ARTIST: Nicole Yates is a painter and digital designer from Portland, Oregon. She believes art enriches living spaces through an aesthetic drawn from the natural and digital worlds. At home and in the office, Nicole is inspired by the colors that surround us-the architecture, outdoors, travel, food and wine-as well as emerging trends in digital advertising and design. PACKAGING: 30x40" and 40x60" prints are shipped in a special fortified tube to guard against bending or damage. Framed 30x40" prints are shipped via FedEx in a bespoke cardboard box with a fitted interior armature for the frame. We do not frame the extra large, 40x60" print sizes because they are too large to ship without risking damage. INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: We ship unframed prints internationally via DHL. The international shipping cost does not include the tax & duties, which will be the responsibility of the customer. Unfortunately, because of the high shipping cost we do not ship framed prints internationally at this time.

Abstract art. Strong colors. Red. Black. White. Circle motif. About the Artist: Steve Joester is a British-born Rock & Roll photographer and mixed media artist, currently living and working in New York City.
Joester, a leading Rock & Roll photographer in the 70's and 80's, had his iconic images of the greatest rock performers appear on album sleeves, posters, exhibitions and magazines worldwide. Joester made his mark shooting icons such as Mick Jagger, Bob Marley, Neil Young, Sting, and also documented Andy Warhol on film with Rob Halford of Judas Priest backstage at the Palladium in April, 1979. In an explosive interpretation of the rock icons that left their indelible mark on our generation, Joester's unique mixed media works transcend his photography. Using an unconventional mixture of materials on his canvases, he echoes the raw energy of Rock & Roll with his own Interpretation of the emotion and power of the live performances. Joester was the first mixed media artist to be represented by the Morrison Hotel Gallery, and his work is included in collections internationally. COLLECTED BY JOHN VARVATOS RALPH LAUREN E.
