About the Item

This Artist’s Proof is approximately 90% hand-painted with original oil paint and gesso by Shizico Yi, applied directly onto a premium Giclée canvas made from her original oil painting. This is the last of the only 2 artist's proof. Each proof is individually hand-painted by the artist, with colours mixed fresh on the day in her studio. As a result, subtle variations in tone and detail occur, making every proof a truly one-of-a-kind artwork. About the Painting Purple Misty Alliums marks Shizico Yi’s return to plein air painting in her garden after a long, cold winter and an unusually hot spring. When the weather finally softened, she was drawn back to her happiest place—surrounded by light, nature, and open air. Focusing on the late-spring bloom of alliums, Shizico’s brushstrokes move between freedom and tenderness. The tall, mist-like flowers sway within the landscape, painted with expressive confidence and delicate detail. This work captures the quiet joy of painting outdoors—the sensation of presence, renewal, and the gentle threshold between spring and summer. The moment is fully lived, then held in paint—her joy, movement, and being softly frozen in time on canvas.
