Edgar DEGAS (after) Reproduction of the monotype "Au Salon" (In the Salon) as published in the first edition of "Mimes des Courtisanes de Lucien" by Pierre Louys, 1934/35. Etching and aquatint On Rives vellum 25 x 32 cm (c. 10 x 13 inch) In the early 1920s, Ambroise Vollard (the great art dealer and publisher, champion of Picasso. Cezanne, Renoir and Rouault) bought monotypes from the Estate of Degas. They were later published in two portfolios, engraved by Maurice Potin and finally published in 1934. This plate comes from the archives of Maurice Potin. Very good condition
