OUT WEST is a hand drawn original lithograph by the artist Ari Gradus printed in 13 colors using traditional hand printmaking techniques on archival Arches paper 100% acid free. OUT WEST presents a nostalgic "wild west" cowboy town scene depicting local cowboys and townspeople going about their day - including the county sheriff with his holster and gun sitting outside his office, a drunk man being carried out of the local saloon, one woman looks to be window shopping, another lady is fancily dressed standing outside on the hotel balcony looking down at the scene below. Paper size: 21.75 x 29 in., unframed, very good condition, slight handling on margin, hand signed in pencil by Ari Gradus, inscribed Studio A P (Artist's Proof)aside from edition of 300, from the master printer's private collection Image size: 18 x 25 in. Edition size - 300, plus proofs Year- 1979 About the artist Ari Gradus- Born in a small village in Israel in 1943, Ari Gradus won his first art award in Tel-Aviv by the time he was 12. After studying at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Paris and completing three years of military service, he came to the United States in 1968 and completed his formal education at New York University. He started exhibiting across the east coast and, in 1968, was invited by CBS-TV to be nationally televised on “Look Up and Live.” He has had numerous one man shows in New York, Boston, Brussels, Munich, Paris, Tel Aviv and Haifa. He has received awards for his works from the Washington Square Outdoor Art Exhibition, New York, Maurice Podell Historical Museum of New Jersey, and the Annual Art Festivals of White Plains, N.Y. and Mystic, Ct.
