About the Item

The 1935 original poster by Roger Pérot for the XIIe Salon des Arts Ménagers showcases the quintessence of Art Deco style, embodying the elegance and modernity of the era. Created to promote the twelfth edition of the Salon des Arts Ménagers (Home Arts Exhibition), this poster stands as a testament to the intersection of art and domestic life during the interwar period.

Roger Pérot, a notable French artist and illustrator, infused the poster with Art Deco's characteristic geometric shapes, bold colors, and streamlined forms. The composition exudes sophistication and dynamism, capturing the spirit of innovation and progress that defined the Art Deco movement.

The XIIe Salon des Arts Ménagers, held in Paris during the 1930s, was an annual event that showcased the latest advancements in household appliances, furnishings, and interior design. It served as a platform for manufacturers to display their products and for attendees to explore the latest trends in home improvement and modern living.

Pérot's poster not only advertised the event but also captured the excitement and allure of the Salon des Arts Ménagers. Its Art Deco aesthetic appealed to the contemporary sensibilities of the time, reflecting a society eager to embrace technological progress and the conveniences of modern life.
