Different European countries are represented on the poster: France and its Eiffel Tower, Spain with guitar, fan and oranges, Italy and the Tower of Pisa, Great Britain with its flag enthroned on top of a castle surrounded by nature, Switzerland with Lake Geneva and its snow-capped mountains. A deer is also represented as well as a mug of beer accompanied by a pipe. A boat carrying barrels perhaps represents Portugal and its Porto.
Jean Carlu was a French advertising designer and poster designer born in 1900 and died in 1997. In the 1920s and 1930s, Carlu became known for his dynamic and bold posters, characterized by geometric shapes and bright colors, typical of the style Art Deco. He is one of the famous...
