The imagery depicts the unified cannons exploding with their targets within the Axis area of control. It is a poster to encourage increased patriotism among all Americans both at home and in the battle overseas. Henry Koerner (1915-1991) was a Jewish refugee who immigrated to the United States from Austria in 1938. Trained as a graphic designer, he immediately produced a number U.S. propaganda poster before being drafted into the Graphics Division during WWII.
