About the Item

"Fish Form" is a fabricated steel sculpture by Gerardo Wohlgemuth. It resembles a fish with a gigantic hole for an eye. 8 1/2" x 27 1/2" x 4 1/8" sculpture Not Signed Gerardo Wohlgemuth was born in Buenos Aires in 1960. An architect, sculptor, engraver and painter, Wohlgemuth works and experiments with several kinds of techniques and mediums. He started his training in the workshop of Adrian Dorado and subsequently in Hugo Padeletti’s. Formed within the constructivist movement, Wohlgemuth, initiated a search for synthesis and his own language. In 1998 he began constructing a series- “solids”, in which the artworks focused on pieces of pure form, clean lines and blunt images. The work "Solid air" in his series won the first prize at the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales del 2000, exhibited in Paris. Since then an introspective search leads him to investigate the theme of the vacuum. The works suggested, in archetypal form, naked, in which the vacuum is surrounded, approximate and embraced. In 2006 Wohlgemuth participated in the Buenos Aires Cowparade Field of Experimental Art, Directorate General. Of Museums 2005 National Hall - Municipal Hall E. Roman, VTE. Lopez, 1st prize Individual Show in the C. C. Recoleta - sculptures in the garden, Larreta Museum - provincial Hall of the Pampa - Lounge AAGA invited to the courtyard of sculptures at Expotrastiendas.
