Joanne Tinker seeks to transform ordinary objects into something precious, something special. Metal bottle tops, acupuncture tubes, confectionary wrapping and aluminium cans have all featured as materials, although chocolate foil wrappings remain a constant in her work. Her current work has appeared at London’s Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. While, the New York Museum of Art & Design and The White Rabbit Gallery, Sydney own pieces. 'The use of chocolate foil wrappings remains a constant in my work - not because of my love of chocolate - but rather my wholehearted appreciation of the material’s colour, texture, delicacy and strength. Simply, I unwrap one form and recreate another.

Set of 17 Murano Art Glass Goblets in Art Deco Taste, Italy, circa 1930-1940

Set of 17 Murano Art Glass Goblets in Art Deco Taste, Italy, circa 1930-1940

By Cappellin

Located in Vigonza, Padua

A remarkable and highly decorative set of 17 Murano art glass goblets, made in Italy and dating to approximately 1930-1940. The group presents an extraordinary variety of forms, colors, and stem constructions, while maintaining a strong visual coherence that makes the ensemble particularly striking as a collection. Each goblet is individually hand-crafted, with distinct silhouettes ranging from flared conical bowls to rounded trumpet forms, and with elaborately modeled stems featuring ribbed knops, applied ornaments, spiral feet, aventurine-like inclusions, and sculptural details in contrasting tones. The palette includes vivid ruby red, cobalt blue, aquamarine, turquoise, emerald green, and amethyst shades, often combined within the same piece to create refined chromatic contrast. The set embodies the refined decorative sensibility of Murano glass production in the Art Deco period, where Venetian glassmaking tradition meets a more modern, elegant, and theatrical design language. Rather than being strictly uniform, the goblets were conceived as a harmonious decorative suite, united by their craftsmanship, proportions, and stylistic spirit. This collection is especially suitable for collectors of Murano glass, Art Deco interiors, and high-level decorative objects, and would also make an exceptional visual statement in a dining room, display cabinet, or curated interior project. PROVENANCE Acquired from an old antiques Venice shop; in the A & MYART Collection since 2004. Each goblet is hand-blown and individually formed. Excellent condition, like new . SINGLE DESCRIPTION GOBLET 1 Murano Art Glass Goblet No. 1, Green Spiral Bowl and Amber Stem, Italy, circa 1930-1940 Elegant Murano art glass goblet, Italy, circa 1930-1940, in refined Art Deco taste. The piece features a tall flared bowl in translucent green glass with spiral ribbing, raised on a warm amber-toned stem with applied side ornaments and a matching green circular foot. The composition combines strong verticality with lively decorative movement, characteristic of Murano production of the second quarter of the 20th century. A highly decorative and collectible example, suitable both as a standalone object and as part of a curated group of Murano goblets. Dimensions: height 26 cm; diameter 9.5 cm. GOBLET 2 Murano Art Glass Goblet No. 2, Ruby Bowl with Aquamarine Stem, Italy, circa 1930-1940 Murano art glass goblet, Italy, circa 1930-1940, with a deep ruby-red rounded bowl and an elegant aquamarine-toned ribbed stem enriched by small applied side ornaments. The spiral foot in matching ruby glass gives the piece a particularly strong decorative identity. The contrast between the rich bowl and the lighter sculptural stem reflects the refined theatricality associated with Murano glass in the Art Deco period. Dimensions: height 27 cm; diameter 10 cm. Provenance: old antiques Veniceshop; A & MYART Collection since 2004. GLOBET 3 Murano Art Glass Goblet No. 3, Blue Bowl with Red Sculptural Stem, Italy, circa 1930-1940 Striking Murano art glass goblet, Italy, circa 1930-1940, featuring a luminous turquoise-blue flared bowl and a sculptural stem in ruby and gold-toned glass with applied side elements. The blue foot balances the composition and reinforces its chromatic unity. This goblet stands out for its compact proportions and strong decorative presence, combining contrasting colors with a distinctly hand-modeled central section. Dimensions: height 27 cm; diameter 10 cm. Provenance: old antiques Venice shop; A & MYART Collection since 2004. GOBLET 4 Murano Art Glass Goblet No. 4, Pale Aquamarine Conical Bowl, Italy, circa 1930-1940 Refined Murano art glass goblet, Italy, circa 1930-1940, with a tall pale aquamarine conical bowl, a finely composed ribbed and sculptural stem, and a spiral foot in matching tones. The restrained color palette gives this piece particular elegance and visual lightness. Its silhouette is especially graceful, balancing a pure geometric bowl with richly modeled Murano stem work.
