About the Item

Molly Schulps is an artist and educator living in both California and Oregon. She grew up in Southern California and was deeply influenced by her father who was a successful educator and master potter. Molly works in her home studio making both sculpture and utilitarian ceramics. When she is not in the studio or classroom, she likes to explore her surrounding environments collecting imagery, sketching and researching. Her artwork explores narratives and visual imagery related to animals and the environment. Schulps has served as a professor of ceramics for the last 18 years at Cypress College and was the art department chair for the last 6 years. She has been invited to participate in some significant exhibitions at various museums and is in both public and private collections.

Nick Weddell Mother Pot stoneware and glaze 14 x 16 x 16" 2020 signed under glaze Nick Weddell is a sculptor from Austin, Texas. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in ceramics from Texas State University (2016) and a Master of Fine Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University (2019). Weddell creates metamorphosed versions of everyday objects ranging from cups to armchairs in order to catalyze a celebration of that which is and a challenge to seek that which could be.
