Fine pair of period Hepplewhite carved mahogany side chairs with serpentine-shaped molded top rail, the carved splat with wheat motif, straight tapering legs ending in spade feet.

The shaped arms have a swept support with a reeded edge, the chair seat is serpentine in shape to the front and has a loose pad seat upholstered in a later needlework material.

This lovely pair of 19th century chairs are in the Louis XV style. With cane seats and backs, the legs are supported by a delicate serpentine stretcher.

The chair has a serpentine shaped front with cabriole legs that have scroll toes and carved knees.
