Early Hanae Mori Couture silk kimono evening trouser set in a vibrant pink floral print, the same style in another colour way is found in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum and dated 1966-69...This set is exquisitely constructed of printed silk Habutai with an overlay of printed silk chiffon the two layers give a dramatic depth to the print...The top is semi fitted through the torso, with a V neckline, it closes at the front with silk frogs and hidden snaps, the flowing kimono sleeves are unlined and of a single layer of printed silk chiffon, there is one repair to the left upper sleeve front it is hidden in the folds of the fabric and would only be seen if you stood with your arm extended and pointed it out, the back of the jacket has a center long inverted pleat, the torso is lined in cream silk or rayon...The trouser fitted through the hip, has flowing legs, again printed silk Habutai construction with an overlay of printed silk chiffon that gives the fabric depth...Trousers close at the back with a zipper and covered snaps in the chiffon fabric, the waist sits at or just below the natural waist...Together with the original long chiffon scarf...
